HYALURONIC ACID + JUVEDERM
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that delivers volume to the skin. Modified hyaluronic acid is the main ingredient behind JUVÉDERM®. Getting treated with JUVÉDERM® helps add volume to different areas of the face without surgery while also temporarily restoring the volume loss beneath the surface.
The Juvederm family of hyaluronic acid fillers can add volume to plump lips, smooth lines, lift & contour cheeks, or enhance the chin and jawline.
JUVÉDERM® INJECTABLE GEL FILLERS IMPORTANT INFORMATION // APPROVED USES
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel is for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss and for augmentation of the chin region to improve the chin profile in adults over 21.
JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC injectable gels are for injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC injectable gel is for adults over 21.
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ XC injectable gel is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral lines in adults over 21.
JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC injectable gel is for injection into the lips and perioral area for lip augmentation in adults over 21.
AM I AN IDEAL CANDIDATE?
Good candidates for Juvederm filler injections are individuals who are 21 years or older. You should not have an active infection or skin illness. You should not have a known allergy to lidocaine or any of the ingredients. If you are pregnant or nursing, you may be recommended for other treatments.
YOUR CONSULTATION
A skin examination will be performed during your consultation for Juvederm treatments. Your medical history will be reviewed, including any pre-existing conditions and current medications. Discuss your expectations and cosmetic goals so that a personalized treatment plan can be developed to address your concerns.
THE TREATMENT SESSION
The first step in getting Juvederm fillers is facial assessment and mapping. Then, the target areas will be cleansed and sanitized. A topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure client comfort during the injection process. Using a tiny needle, the chosen Juvederm filler will be injected into the target areas until desired results are achieved.
WHAT IS AFTERCARE LIKE?
There is no recovery time needed after getting Juvederm injections. Minor swelling and bruising may be experienced within 24 to 48 hours after treatment. It can take up to two weeks for the filler to settle, so it best to avoid touching or putting pressure on the treated areas. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and other forms of UV radiation such as tanning beds.
WHAT ARE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
The most commonly reported side effects with JUVÉDERM® injectable gels included redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discoloration, and itching.
Most side effects will resolve with time. Your doctor may choose to treat side effects persisting over 30 days with antibiotics, steroids, or hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid).
One of the risks with these products is unintentional injection into a blood vessel. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does happen, the complications can be serious and may be permanent. These complications, which have been reported for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin.
As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

The cost of Juvederm fillers will largely depend on the individual patient’s goals. The number of target areas, total number of syringes used, and type of filler may all impact the overall price.
